• Welcome

Let us introduce you to mosquito buckets, an easy, effective, and targeted method of mosquito control! Safe for pollinators and other wildlife, they use a naturally-occurring bacterium (Bti) to eliminate mosquito larvae before they become biting adults.

This photograph of a Bee-autiful Bucket, one of the first installed in Decatur GA, is by Holly Vanderbilt.

We provide individual consultations and group workshops; we speak about supporting pollinators, throughout and beyond Decatur.

    What people are saying

“My BBuckets are really making a difference!  I have 4 in my yard and they are doing a better job than spraying. I hate to admit it, but I used a mosquito fogging service in the past. There’s a wonderful video on the B Buckets website by an entomologist [Doug Tallamy, see our Buckets page] that really landed with me. Watch it to get inspired by some science on mosquito control. B Buckets work!” –Nathan, Decatur

I can’t believe how effective these buckets are. We put 6 in our somewhat small yard, put in new dunks every month, and, for the first time ever, my husband could mow the lawn without bug spray all summer. We didn’t put any in the front yard, and that’s where we got bit. We could also tell if we were late on replacing the dunks [B Buckets sends reminders!], because we’d get a bite or two. Also, this is so easy! We never even changed the water in the buckets, just added a new dunk [half usually works!] every three to four weeks. And our yard is full of happy, healthy butterflies! Win win win!.” –Kate, Decatur

“I love my B Buckets. They are very easy to use. And, best of all, I can once again enjoy being in my yard!” –Angie, Decatur
